A PROTECTIVE SHELL

Located along a busy artery outside of Washington, DC, this project created a master suite addition for a Post War era house.  Simple surfaces and spaces offer a serene respite from the busy surrounds. A tall, curved exterior wall envelopes the master suite, shielding its occupant from public view.  The protective facade is punctured by carefully placed screens, to filter light and views. The volume opens completely to a private backyard.  Alisha led the design of this addition, working with Shinberg Levinas Architects.
